Hi I’m Marylin Nuzzo

I am Venezuelan and currently, I live in Miami, Fl. I am a professional makeup artist and lover of the world of beauty. I'm too happy to share my tips and connect with you!

This passion started at a very young age. As a child, my mother told me that she went EVERYWHERE with my Minnie Mouse bag and told my family “let's paint their mouths” and painted their lips 😂.

I remember when I was in school I would watch YouTube videos of makeup. My first inspiration was Jaclyn Hills, which by the way, I had always wanted my skin to look like hers 😂 (but we will talk about this in the skincare section), because of her I started to focus more on blurring and I realized which was the most I liked to perfect because I did not like when the makeup showed divisions but a harmony.

In the first years studying Social Communication, I still did not know what I was passionate about. If I liked my career but I did not feel passion and for me that emotion is important that it be present in my life.

I am a person who if he does not LOVE what he does, he does not do it (sometimes I feel that I am a bit extreme because I am with everything), because until I reach mid-career and the truth is I do not remember the exact moment but I started like all daughter to grab my mom's makeup and put into practice the tutorials I watched on YouTube.

At first I didn't like the way I did makeup and my mom gave me a self-makeup course, as it was the first makeup course I was very excited, I learned about eyebrows, the basics of makeup, a little color. At that moment I felt that making up was my passion, I met people who shared the same love as me for make-up.

After taking my first course, I put my skills into practice. My first models were my sister and Michelle (friend from college), I remember that I ALWAYS asked them to put on makeup hahahaha, I know that sometimes it is annoying to be a model and spend one or even more hours sitting in a chair, I say more than an hour because It took me alot in each step, until Michelle after a while put me to the test and we had a clock for an hour, since it is the estimated time. Little by little I was improving and fulfilling the time, it was not easy but as they say "practice makes perfect". (Thanks to those who have been my models and to motivate me to believe in myself).

Years later I wanted to train and learn from makeup artists who admired their work. In 2018 I went to Maracay to do a course with Juan Bautista, official makeup artist for Miss Venezuela. In that course we did two make-ups: bridal and a smokey eye. With him I also learned how to organize my makeup team when going to do makeup, this is undoubtedly one of the most important tips as a professional, since makeup is not only about makeup but about your presentation. A curious fact that happened to us in the course was that when we were almost finishing Juan received a call and they gave him the news to be the makeup artist for Miss Venezuela, I feel that this made that day even more special.

In 2019 I felt a passion for skin, I realized that skin is the most important thing in makeup. So I decided to learn from one of my favorite makeup artists, Patricia Gómez. This course focused on mature skin and bridal makeup.

In 2020 I graduated as a social communicator and that was the moment where I decided to do makeup as my profession. At that time we were in the middle of a pandemic, in Venezuela you couldn't go out on the streets, I took that time to create content for my networks. In September of that same year I took two-weeks course called “Influencer by Mary” by Maria Fassrainer, where I learned tools that helped me develop as an influencer.

In February 2021 I moved to the United States, at first I thought they were going to take a vacation, but life allowed me to stay. I just arrived in Miami I did two online courses with Lia Febres: colorimetry and intensive skin. I loved both courses, I learned about colors and formulas.

And well, this has been a little bit of my experience during my first years training as a makeup artist and finding my way to my passion. I thank my family and friends for always supporting me and giving me that push to believe in me, you are my motivation. I also want to thank my mother who is undoubtedly the woman to whom I owe my life and who has always been there in every step I take. Finally, I want to thank you for reading me and being part of my process ❤️.
